The Patriots are sliding, and look to avoid losing three straight when they meet the Texans. New England is a 3.5 point favorite over the Texans, who had their four-game win streak snapped last week in Buffalo.

Sunday’s matchup has been “flexed” into Sunday Night Football, making this the third primtetime appearance for the Texans this season. In their last outing, they upset the then-undefeated Bengals on Monday Night Football.

With last week’s loss to the Eagles, coupled with wins from Denver and Cincinnati, the Patriots dropped to third in the AFC Playoff standings. If the season ended today, New England would host a first-round matchup against the Chiefs.

For the Texans, last week’s loss to Buffalo was a serious let-down for a team on the rise. Even if Houston loses as a home underdog on Sunday night, the season is not lost. The Texans play through their entire division in the last three weeks, starting with Indianapolis, with whom they are tied for the division lead.
