The NBA’s annual slate of holiday games get underway with this matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and Miami Heat in the first meeting of a two-game season series. The Pelicans swept the series last season and have won the past three meetings after Miami had won the previous five.

But while New Orleans has a bit of recent momentum under its belt, the Heat have been dominant in holiday appearances. Miami is 9-2 all-time in Christmas Day games with victories in the last six as well as 4-0 all-time record at home on Christmas.
