The presents have been opened, the storm of wrapping paper has (maybe) been cleared away from the tree and, now, it’s time to watch some basketball.
The NBA’s annual slate of holiday games get underway with this matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and Miami Heat in the first meeting of a two-game season series. The Pelicans swept the series last season and have won the past three meetings after Miami had won the previous five.
But while New Orleans has a bit of recent momentum under its belt, the Heat have been dominant in holiday appearances. Miami is 9-2 all-time in Christmas Day games with victories in the last six as well as 4-0 all-time record at home on Christmas.
So, go ahead and take a break from trying to figure out the user manual for all your brand-new electronics and tune into to the holiday faceoff. Tip is slated for 12 p.m. ET and is being broadcast nationally on ESPN. Not near a TV? That’s cool too. Here’s how to watch online and on mobile:
