With all the talk about English managers getting sacked, it’s easy to forget about Rafael Benitez.
The end of 2015 was not good for the Madrid manager. First there was the dismantling in El Clasico, then there was the club’s early exit from Copa del Rey. The side have lost three of their last six league games, and despite being only two points behind Barcelona, Benitez isn’t getting any love.
He was booed before the team’s last match, a 10-2 win over Rayo Vallecano. Gareth Bale scored four goals in that game, as Madrid have dropped 22 goals in their last three home matches.
After sacking David Moyes earlier this season, Sociedad are ranked 14th in La Liga. Spanish striker Imanol Agirretxe leads the teams with 12 goals this season. Sociedad have struggled against the elite teams this season, but they did knock off Champions League qualifier Sevilla back in November.
