The resurgent Seattle Seahawks took a big-time hit on Sunday afternoon – and not one that is particularly easy to bounce back from.

Rookie running back Thomas Rawls was hurt on the Seahawks opening drive, heading back into the locker room before being quickly ruled out with an ankle injury. So, who is left to jumpstart the Seattle backfield against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14?

Fred Jackson.

Coming into the road matchup against the Ravens, Jackson had just 17 attempts for a total of 74 yards and no touchdowns. Still, the 34-year-old shouldn’t be completely overlooked.

It’s possible he could split some time with fellow back-up DuJuan Harris if Rawls’ injury keeps him sidelined for more than just this matchup against the Ravens. Still, it’s probably best to temper expectations for the former Buffalo Bills standout, particularly in the Seahawks offensive ground-and-pound scheme.

Of course, this isn’t the first time this season Seattle has dealt with injuries to its ground game. Marshawn Lynch had surgery on an abdominal injury last week after a season that was marred by time spent on the sidelines. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Beast Mode is “week-to-week” and the squad will keep on an eye on his progress heading into a possible postseason berth.

Now, with Rawls also possibly missing extended time, that eye on Lynch may be a bit unwavering.
