Steve Smith Sr. on Wednesday announced he will be returning to play for the Baltimore Ravens in 2016, rather than retiring as initially thought.

The wide receiver took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce he’s changed his decision to retire and is returning to play in 2016.

Smith suffered a season-ending Achilles injury midway through the season. He currently ranks 11th on the NFL’s all-time receiving list, with 13,392 total yards.

Smith, 36, announced in training camp that he would retire following the 2015 season. But after he suffered the injury, coach John Harbaugh said he felt Smith would return in 2016.

Smith is under contract with the Ravens through the 2016 season.
