With their current status in the league table, Chelsea should no longer be thinking about a finish in the top four. If that’s the case, it’s even more important they put forth a good result today against MK Dons. The Dons may be just a point above relegation in second-tier football, but the lack of upsets so far in the FA Cup should put Chelsea on alert.
It was in this round last year that Chelsea made their exit, falling 4-2 in a shocker to Bradford City. Dons are no stranger to upsets themselves, and aren’t too far removed from a 4-0 dismantling of Manchester United at Stadium MK in 2014. If the crowd can have the same energy as that match, the Dons could be in for some magic against a depleted Chelsea squad.
