Manchester City look to make a return trip to Wembley for the League Cup Final, which they raised in 2014. To reach the final they’ll need to topple Everton, as well as solve their own road woes.
City’s win at Watford over the weekend was their first road win since early September. They’ve been disappointing away from the Eithad this season, drawing at United, Villa and Spurs, while losing at Stoke and Arsenal. Strong home form has kept them near the top of the BPL table, where they only trail Arsenal and Leicester on points.
Ironically, City heads to Goodison today, where the Toffees are one of the Premier League’s worst clubs at their home stadium. Everton has won just three of their last 11 home games this season.
The winner of this two-leg matchup will face the winner of the Liverpool-Stoke semifinal. Liverpool won the first leg on Tuesday, 1-0.
