It’s time for (some more) playoff football. Championship football. Win and you’re going to the Super Bowl football.

So, who’s playing in such an important game? And when exactly is it on? On what channel? Don’t worry. We’ve got answers.

The Arizona Cardinals take on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night in one of the most talent-packed matchups on the gridiron this entire season. The game is slated to kick off at 6:40 p.m. and is being broadcast on FOX with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on the call.

Let’s break down some stats.

Of course, it all starts with Cam Newton on the Panthers side of things. The quarterback, who has become one of the most polarizing figures in the entire NFL, is having the season of his life with an MVP-caliber performance that has Carolina scoring a league-leading 31.2 points per game. Last week, Newton helped the Panthers jump out to a 31-point lead in the first half against the Seattle Seahawks.

Then, there’s the ground game. Jonathan Stewart returned after missing the last three games of the regular season and racked up 106 yards and tow touchdowns.

On the flip side, the Cardinals are led by their own standout quarterback. Carson Palmer has been undergoing a career Renaissance in the desert this season and despite suffering  a right index finger injury late in the regular season, the veteran QB is still expected to air out.

This is the second time in as many years that the Panthers will host Arizona in a postseason matchup. Last season, the Cardinals dropped a 27-16 loss, but it was a much different team than they’ll put out on the field on Sunday evening. For one thing, Palmer will play. That’s a big enough change to spark some confidence.

Here’s another fun NFC Championship fact. This will be the first time in NFL history that two teams will face off in the postseason led by former Heisman-winning quarterbacks.

The Panthers are listed as 3-point favorites at home, according to OddsShark, but the weather may play a bit of an issue in the late game. As many know, the East Coast was slammed by a massive blizzard this weekend and North Carolina did not escape unscathed. On Thursday, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory declared a state of emergency with more than a half-inch of ice and 2.5 inches of snow in the forecast through Saturday night.

Still, AccuWeater.com, predicted a high of 40 with “brilliant sunshine” on Sunday afternoon before the temps dropped to near freezing at night.

Get yourself to a TV. This one is going to be fun.
