This one is going to be fun. And interesting. And probably pretty darn close.

The Green Bay Packers are looking to turn the playoffs into a brand-new season. The Washington Redskins are looking to keep things rolling. It’s two opposite forces facing off on one football field for a winner-takes-all gridiron battle.

See, we said it would be fun.

The Packers come into Wild Card weekend off back-to-back losses and finished the regular season have been swept by divisional foes for the first time in over 30 years. On the flip side, Washington is riding a four-game win streak and one of its best offensive seasons in recent years.

The big question is whether or not Aaron Rodgers and an up-and-down Green Bay offense can get some traction against a Washington defense that’s a bit banged up, particularly in the secondary.

According to OddsShark, the Redskins are a 1-point favorite. The over-under is set at 47 points.

The Packers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games on the road and 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games against Washington. On the other hand, Washington is 5-1 ATS in its last six games and 5-2 ATS in the last seven games at home. The total has gone UNDR in six of the last eight Green Bay and Washington games.

The OddsShark computer is projecting a 29.3 – 15.8 Redskins victory.

We here at Heavy have to agree with the Washington victory although we aren’t quite sure it’ll be such a comfortable win. Yes, the Redskins offense has been lights out over the past few games and Kirk Cousins should keep tossing touchdown passes, particularly with Deshaun Jackson and Jordan Reed as down-the-field threats. But Washington is hurt on the defensive side of the ball, particularly in the secondary, and Aaron Rodgers is still Aaron Rodgers so he’s going to be able to take advantage of that, at least a little bit.

Washington’s going to advance, but it’s going to be close.

Heavy’s Pick: Washington 28, Green Bay 20. Over on the point total.
