Madrid hope to improve their awful form away from home, as well as gain some ground in the league table with a win over struggling Espanyol.
Madrid have only taken 16 out of a possible 30 points from away fixtures this season, a disappointing number for one of Spain’s top clubs. Madrid are third in La Liga with 44 points, but can catch up to fallen Atletico Madrid with a winning performance today.
Espanyol will need their best to get a result today, as they head to the Bernabeu on a seven-game winless streak in all competitions. Espanyol will also be without dangerman Marco Asensio, who is ineligible to play against parent club Madrid.
For Madrid, Zidane will once again make his lineup without Gareth Bale. He’s dealing with a calf injury, so expect to see James return to the lineup in his place.
