Who Would the Redskins Play in the Divisional Round Next Week?

The Washington Redskins are back in the playoffs.

But while there’s certainly plenty to focus on when it comes to Sunday afternoon’s Wild Card matchup against the Green Bay Packers, it’s also a bit challenging not to look ahead. So, if the Redskins pull of the victory in the first round, where would they end up next weekend? And, more importantly, who would they play?

Well, to be honest, not much of it is in the Redskins’ control. In fact, if certain things happen in the earlier NFC Wild Card game, Washington will have just one avenue when it comes to the Divisional Round. Let’s break it down:

If the Minnesota Vikings beat the Seattle Seahawks: If the no. 3 seed Vikings win at home on Sunday afternoon, that would mean the Redskins are the lowest remaining seed and would head to Carolina next weekend for a matchup against the top-seeded Panthers. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for January 17 at 1:05 p.m.

If the Seattle Seahawks beat the Minnesota Vikings: If the sixth-seeded Seahawks pull off the road upset, Washington will be heading to No. 2 Arizona and the Redskins will get a date against the Cardinals. Kickoff for that game is slated for January 16 at 8:15 p.m.

Game on? Game on.
