WWE SmackDown Spoilers & Results for January 21

WWE SmackDown spoilers, SmackDown spoilers

There’s plenty to get through in this week’s taping of Smackdown. We’ve got all the results here. (Facebook)

We’ve got just one final WWE SmackDown before Sunday night’s Royal Rumble and this week’s event taped its latest in-ring moments in Dayton, Ohio on Tuesday night.

Let’s just say a lot happened in Ohio.

Read on to get the lowdown on each match and check out the best moments to get you (even more) psyched before Royal Rumble. Here we go:

  • Chris Jericho, who kind of disappeared after sparking that wild end to Raw on Monday night, opened up SmackDown with a promo for the Royal Rumble. Y2J pumped up his own chances to win the Rumble before he was interrupted by The New Day who, once again, staged a brief memorial for Francesca the Trombone. RIP Francesca.
  • The appearance from The New Day lead right into another matchup against The Usos and Dolph Ziggler. Despite their emotional fight for the trombone, The New Day can’t defeat the Usos for two straight nights and, with the help of Ziggler, the Usos get the win with a triple superkick.
  • Becky Lynch continues her pretty awesome reign in the ring by defeating Alicia Fox by submission. Lynch’s run to another Divas Championship match has been pretty fantastic and, if we’re being honest, one of the best parts of the WWE over the past few weeks.
  • The Miz made an appearance for a brand-new edition of Miz TV with a pair of fairly volatile guests; Kevin Owens and Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose. They dissected their upcoming Last Man Standing match at Royal Rumble. but it wasn’t just all talk. Amrbose hit Dirty Deeds on The Miz and, for good measure, Owens followed up with a pop-up powerbomb to wrap up the segment. Naturally.
  • Bray Wyatt, still on a bit of an emotional high from Monday night’s Raw surprise, defeated Ryback. It was, for all intents and purposes, simple. More on the Wyatt family later.
  • Titus O’Neil defeated Stardust. Another fairly straight forward match.
  • Then, this happened. Roman Reigns’ matchup against the League of Nations was previewed on Monday night and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion did not disappoint. Reigns defeated Rusev, Sheamus, King Barrett and WWE United States Champion Albert Del Rio in a Handicap Match by DQ. He also got a bit of help. The Usos returned to the ring to assist Reigns after the disqualification.
  • Remember when we said more on the Wyatt family? Here it is. After Reigns had seemingly pulled off the victory, the Wyatt family came into the ring and attacked, much like they did on Raw, and ended SmackDown. Royal Rumble darkhorse? Maybe.
