All-Star Weekend in Toronto is the latest spot on Kobe Bryant’s retirement tour, and the Laker legend is the favorite to be named MVP of tonight’s game. Bryant is currently tied for the most MVP awards of all time, and can pass Bob Pettit with his fifth trophy tonight. The fans are sure to vote Kobe into the award, but the Emoji Vote winner will only account for 25 percent of the vote.

The other 75 percent comes from on-court play, where it doesn’t seem likely Kobe will dominate. Reporter Baxter Holmes asked Kobe about his expectations for Sunday’s game, and his answers could disappoint his loyal fans:

Here’s my theory: even if Kobe doesn’t want MVP, other All-Stars who grew up idolizing Black Mamba will be feeding him the ball. So if I’m picking someone to win MVP and it’s not Kobe, it would make sense that he would come from the Eastern Conference.

LeBron James is the favorite among East players at +800 to win MVP, according to OddsShark.com. Bryant is the leader at +135, and Steph Curry is the other favorite at +500. Last years MVP Russell Westbrook comes in next at +800, while his OKC teammate Kevin Durant is right below him at +200.

My choice is hometown selection Kyle Lowry. Lowry has had a great to his season in The North, and point guards have a habit at taking over the ASG. For a scorer in his home arena, Lowry is a solid bet at +2000.
