After last week’s loss to Leicester, Manchester City’s title hopes rest in a strong performance today against Tottenham. City were bested by Spurs 4-1 at White Hart Lane earlier this season, and the same result today could see them fall as many as nine points off the top spot.
Tottenham was one of the few teams to best Leicester this season, and is currently in their best form of the season. Harry Kane is third among all Premier League footballers with 15 goals, and Spurs have won four straight league fixtures. But they are an underdog today at the Eithad, where City undoubtedly play their best football.
City could get a big boost at the back, as captain Vincent Kompany could return to the lineup. Kompany has played nine minutes in City’s last 20 matches, and could give the club a huge lift for huge fixtures later in February.
