30,000 runners will take to the streets of New England on Monday, as the Boston Marathon kicks off Patriots Day festivities. What is just a fun experience for some is a serious race for others, with over $800,000 being handed out to the fastest runners. 2015 men’s winner Lelisa Desisa is from Ethiopia, and will be seeking his third career Boston Marathon win. The favorite in the women’s division is Kenyan Rita Jeptoo, who set the course record in victory last year with a time of 2:18:57.
Pre-race coverage will start at 7 a.m. and can be seen on WBZ in the Boston Area, and on NBC Sports Network everywhere else. Here’s how to watch the race online and on mobile devices:

If you have access to a cable or satellite subscription — either yours or someone else’s — you can watch the game online for free via NBC Sports Live Extra. Mobile users can watch the game via the NBC Sports Live Extra App, which you can download in the App Store or the Google Play Store. As is the case with the desktop livestream, you’ll need a cable provider log-in to watch.
