That wasn’t very pretty.

At least it wasn’t if you are a Minnesota Wild fan.

The Wild dropped a 4-0 decision to the top-seeded Dallas Stars in Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinals on Thursday and even that final score seemed a lot closer than the game actually was.

Dallas looked dominant in every aspect of the game, even on the defensive side of the ice, something that hasn’t exactly been the Stars’ forte this season. Meanwhile, the Wild looked disconnected, a bit confused and not exactly ready for the moment in the spotlight.

Of course, there are more games and things can changed. That is, after all, why they play the game. Read on for a look at Game 2, including what the Wild may change and how to catch the action even without a TV:

Preview: When you get shutout and generally outplayed in the first game of a postseason series, it’s understandable that you’d want to make some changes heading into the next matchup.

The Minnesota Wild are doing just that.

Forward Erik Haula is expected to be back on the roster after missing Game 1 with a lower-body injury and his return gives the Wild a serious weapon against Dallas standout Jamie Benn.

Haula’s return also allows Minnesota to shift some players back to their regularly-played positions. Center Mikael Granlund skated with Mikko Koivu and David Jones in practice earlier this week and Haula is expected to rejoin the line of Nino Niederreiter and Jason Pominville. That second group has been together for several months now and their chemistry has been obvious every time they’ve taken the ice.

Also expected to get back into the swing of things tonight? Goaltender Devan Dubnyk. He didn’t practice on Friday, but is expected to get the start in net on Saturday night.
