Ken Duke isn’t normally used to seeing his name near the top of the PGA Tour leaderboard on a Sunday afternoon. But he found himself there during the final round of the 2016 Players Championship.

Duke entered the fourth and final round 4 shots behind leader Jason Day at 10-under par, along with Alex Cejka and Hideki Matsuyama.

He finished in a tie for 3rd at 10-under 278 and earned $504,000 for his efforts.

At 47-years-old, Duke has one victory on the PGA Tour. That came in June 2013 when he defeated Chris Stroud in a playoff to win the Travelers Championship.

Duke also has 4 other victories — two in Canada in 1999 (Shell Payless Open and Bayer Championship) and the BMW Charity Pro-Am at the Cliffs in 2006 and the 2011 Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island.

He won the Canadian Tour Order of Merit in 1999 and was named the Nationwide Tour Player of the Year in 2006. The Nationwide Tour is now the Web.com Tour.

Duke turned professional in 1994 and got his PGA Tour card in 2007.

The Arkansas native, who is ranked 495th in the world, has made over $10 million in career earnings over his career. His best year was in 2008, when he took home $2,238,885.

He has played in 14 majors, making seven cuts. He has three top 25 finishes (2 PGA Championship, 1 U.S. Open) with a best result of a tie for 13th at the 2008 PGA.

Duke is married to wife Michelle and the couple has two daughters, Ashley and Lauren.
