40-time race winner Mark Martin got elected to the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Wednesday.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame voters have spoken.

The five-member 2017 Class for Charlotte, North Carolina-based Hall of Fame is as follows:

Benny Parsons

1973 NASCAR Winston Cup Series Champion


Rick Hendrick

Owner of Hendrick Motorsports (15 career drivers championships as an owner)


Mark Martin

NASCAR driver with 96 career wins (40 in the top circuit)


Raymond Parks

NASCAR pioneer 1949 Strictly Stock (now Sprint Cup) champion car owner


Richard Childress

Owner of Richard Childress Racing, won 6 titles with Dale Earnhardt


A panel of 53 voters elected the newest members on Wednesday.

Also announced Wednesday was the 2017 Landmark Award winner, who is H. Clay Earles. Earles was the founder and chairman of the board of Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. Earles died in 1999 at 86.

There were 20 total nominees on the ballot, but only five per year make the cut.
