Real and Atletico Madrid watched from the sidelines as Barcelona won the Spanish double, but on Saturday they battle for a much bigger crown. Real Madrid has won Europe’s most elite competition 10 times, most recently over Diego Simeone’s Atletico club in 2014. Los Colchoneros held a lead in that 2014 final, only to concede three times in extra time to fall 4-1.

Here’s everything you need to know about the UEFA Champions League final:

Game Preview:  It could be the cap to a magnificent turnaround for Real Madrid, who for all their spending were struggling early this year. The change to Zinedine Zidane as manager has been a success, and the French legend could become just the eighth man to win Europe’s top prize in his first job as manager. Madrid won 12 straight La Liga fixtures to close the season, and defeated Manchester City 1-0 to advance to the final.

Real are best when Cristiano Ronaldo is healthy, and that may not be the case for Saturday. CR7 missed training on Tuesday, but has promised he will be ready to go in Milan. Ronaldo has 16 Champions League goals this season, one short of tying his own UCL record set in 2014.

Madrid may have momentum, but Atletico have had no problem with their royal rivals lately. Since losing to Real in the 2014 final, Atletico have lost to their neighbors just once in 10 meetings. Atletico will have a healthy squad for the final, as they attempt to raise a European trophy for the first time in club history.
