He has three PGA Tour wins under his belt, and is looking to build on his record at Oakmont.

Scott Piercy first met his wife, Sara when they were in high school. The two have been together for 25 years.

In a recent interview on a golf blog, Piercy described the role his family plays in his golf career.

“A supportive family is an absolute must because without their support I couldn’t be as good as I can be,” he told Seema Style. “It means a lot to have them by my side everyday.”

2. Piercy is the Father of Three

Piercy and Sara have three sons named Cole, Brennan, and Jett.

In an interview with Swing By Swing, Piercy said Sara and his children travel to see him play as much as they can, but he enjoys coming home and “kicking it” with the family best.

I’m gone so much that when I’m home I feel like I need to be spending time with the family. I don’t get to see my friends much, so I just try to hang out with them. And if I’m playing golf I usually play golf with a couple buddies and then I go home to the fam and just kind of kick it.

Jett, their youngest son, takes to golf the most of the three boys, however they all enjoy a day on the golf course with their dad. Piercy said each of his sons has a passion for sports.

3. He Has a Close Relationship With His Parents

Piercy became a father at the young age of 19.

In a PGA Tour video feature, Scott admits that having children at a young age had its challenges. However, he and his wife, Sara, were able to manage the stress with the support of his parents.

He settled down just a short drive away from his parents, who helped to support their son, and his wife financially in their younger years.

Piercy said his parents were instrumental to his long-term success, and remain very involved in their son’s life.

I had a great support system with my family, financially they helped me. I got to a point where I could support myself financially with my golf, but I couldn’t support my condo, house payment, or health insurance. My parents were in a position where they could help me, and could relive some of that stress.

His mom, Lynn makes all of the travel arrangements for Piercy’s golf tournaments, while his dad, Ralph serves as his accountant.

4. His Family Lives in Las Vegas

The Piercy family lives in Las Vegas in Hooks Residence. Their house is in close proximity to where Scott and Sara grew up, and where his parents still live.

In a recent interview, Piercy said they live about 10 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, which features a myriad of top-notch restaurants him and Sara enjoy.

He shared a few of his favorite restaurants with Swing By Swing:

Gordon Ramsay has a steakhouse at the Paris (hotel and casino). That’s really good. SW – Steve Wynn Steakhouse at the Wynn is really good. I mean, each hotel has three- or four- or five-star restaurants in it, so you can’t really go wrong if you go to a hotel and try to get dinner.

5. The Piercy Family’s Favorite Tournament is the Waste Management Phoenix Open

Piercy and Sara agree, their favorite tournament is the Waste Management Phoenix Open because of the lively environment.

“The crowds are crazy, the fans are happy and everyone is enjoying themselves,” Sara told Seema Style.

Piercy said, wherever he wins is his favorite for the year, but he always looks forward to a stop at Phoenix.

I like Phoenix a lot. I like the atmosphere, it’s a fun tournament, and I always seem to play well. Anytime I’m in Arizona I seem to play well. They must have good air there or something; it fits me well. But there are definitely courses that you like and definitely courses that you don’t like, and the ones you don’t like you try not to go back to. But Scottsdale’s one I definitely like going to.
