Synchronized swimming duets conclude their competition with the free routine final on Tuesday in Rio.

Russia’s duet of Natalia Ishchenko and Svetlana Romashina, the reigning Olympic gold medalists and world champions, carry a strong lead heading into the final. The pair tallied an impressive 96.4577 points during Monday’s duet technical program session.

The United States, who entered Monday’s competition in ninth place, earned 86.4612 points in their technical program to compete in the final still in ninth place.
