UPDATE: Brandon Marshall is expected to play, but there is speculation he will be on a snap count:

END OF UPDATE

Brandon Marshall has had a long week to recover from injuries (knee, foot) suffered during Week 2’s Thursday night win over the Buffalo Bills, but he may need some more time.

The New York Jets star wide receiver, who got in a limited practice Friday and is listed as questionable, admitted he isn’t at 100 percent:

I’m not where I want to be, but the good thing is there’s still time.

For me, you got to think about, this is Week 3. Although every game is important, and we approach them that way, you never want to hurt the team or hurt yourself worse. But obviously, I’ve always tried to fight back and done a great job of being on the field. I’ve always tried to get out there.

Marshall appears to be shaping up as a game-time decision in a late kickoff (4:25 p.m. ET), which is a potential nightmare for fantasy football owners, as his final status may not be clear until after the early 1 p.m. ET games have already kicked off.

If you have another option playing a late game, then you can simply wait until inactives are announced. But if you have a backup playing an early game, it’s probably best to play it safe and keep Marshall on the bench.

As he noted, it wouldn’t be in his or the team’s best long-term interest to rush him back in Week 3. That’s especially the case when you consider the excess of passing-game options for the Jets. Eric Decker is capable of stepping in as the No. 1, Quincy Enunwa has looked great to start the season, rookie Jalin Marshall is promising and both Matt Forte and Bilal Powell can catch passes out of the backfield.

If Marshall does play, I’d treat him more as a WR3. This is still Brandon Marshall we’re talking about, but not only will he likely be at less than 100 percent, he’s also likely to see a bunch of Chiefs All-Pro corner Marcus Peters.

This is a fluid situation, so we’ll keep you updated as more information is made available.
