The Chiefs take their 11-game regular season winning streak to Houston on Sunday, when they visit a Texans team that has changed since their last meeting. The Chiefs eliminated the Texans 30-0 in last year’s playoffs, but additions to Houston’s offense could make Week 2’s meeting much closer.
The Texans offense is retooled for 2016, and looked balanced in a 23-14 win over the Bears in their opener. Brock Osweiler fed established receiver DeAndre Hopkins as well as rookie speedster Will Fuller, but was aided by a strong game from Lamar Miller. The Texans ran 35 pass plays and 35 run plays last week, and will look to continue their balanced attack against a Chiefs defense that has not started the season healthy.
The Chiefs are lucky to be 1-0 to start the season, needing a late rally to knock off the Chargers. Alex Smith passed for 363 yards in that game, as Kansas City scored 24 unanswered points in the second half.
