Houston takes on UConn tonight in an AAC showdown. According to OddsShark, Houston is favored by 27 points heading into the matchup. The over-under is set at 49 points.

The OddsShark computer is projecting a 28.6-8 Houston victory. The computer is taking UConn against the spread and the under on the point total.

Houston is 6-1 against the spread in the last seven games while UConn is 1-5 against the spread in its last six games. The total has gone under in eight of Houston’s last 11 games.

Greg Ward Jr. is one of the best playmakers in college football. Ward poses a dual-threat at quarterback to opposing defenses with his quickness and ability to run the ball.

Houston is well-known for having a dynamic offense, but the Cougars defense has made a large contribution to their early season success. Steven Taylor is one of the best linebackers in the country and leads a swarming Houston defense.

UConn comes in at 2-2 including a win against Virginia. The Huskies are coming off a narrow loss to Syracuse.

Like the OddsShark computer, the S&P+ computer projects a big Houston victory but not by enough points to cover the spread. Heavy sides with the computer and expects Houston to win as UConn puts up a fight in the biggest game of their season.

Heavy’s Pick: Houston 27 UConn 13. UConn +27. Under on the Point Total.
