The biggest injury news heading into NFL Week 8 is in Denver, where starting running back CJ Anderson will miss time with a knee injury. While the exact timetable for his return isn’t clear, he has personally responded to reports that his season might be done.

It started early Thursday afternoon, when NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport tweeted his latest info on Anderson’s status.

As reactions started to pour in, Anderson personally responded to the tweet, denying that he could be done for the season. That tweet was eventually deleted, but the masses of Twitter were quick to document the exchange:

After refuting Rapoport’s claim, Anderson realized the dangers of engaging reporters on Twitter and backed off. His next tweet ends the story, when he makes the best possible decision any NFL athlete can make:

Good call, CJ. The Broncos are home to face the Chargers this weekend, with Devontae Booker expected to get the majority of the carries.
