Heisman Trophy Odds 2016: Lamar Jackson Leads DeShaun Watson

No. 5 Jabrill Peppers

School: Michigan

Position: Linebacker

Odds: +1600 (5th)

Outlook: The last time a defensive player won the award? Charles Woodson, another Michigan man, won it in 1997. It has been almost 20 years since Woodson's achievement. Jabrill Peppers can do it all, but there is a clear bias in Heisman voting towards offensive players. Peppers would need Michigan to go undefeated while the other players' teams start tanking. Considering everything, Peppers is unlikely to win the award, but it has nothing to do with his talent level. (Getty)
