Despite winning an NBA-record 73 regular season games last season, the Golden State Warriors were unable to complete that run with a championship. Stephen Curry and company lost a three games to one lead to the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, so how did general manager Bob Myers respond? By signing Kevin Durant. Golden State’s revamped roster faces the San Antonio Spurs in the season opener for both, with the game scheduled to begin at 10:30 p.m. Eastern on TNT.

Change was in the air in San Antonio as well, with Tim Duncan announcing his retirement after 19 seasons in the NBA. With Duncan moving on wing Kawhi Leonard becomes the face of the franchise, but he’ll have plenty of help as the Spurs look to remain a championship contender.
