The NASCAR Bank of America 500 scheduled for Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway was postponed due to inclement weather.

Rain from nearby Hurricane Matthew poured down all day at the track and officials made the decision to postpone the race.

The Round of 12 Chase for the Cup race was re-scheduled for Sunday, October 9, at Noon ET. It will be televised by NBC.

Kevin Harvick is on the pole for Sunday’s race. He’ll be joined in the front row by Alex Bowman, who is driving the No. 88 Chevrolet for Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is done for the season with concussion symptoms.

The Sprint Cup race will be followed by the XFinity Drive for the Cure 300 at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET.
