WWE ‘Monday Night Raw’ Match Results & Spoilers October 31st

wwe Monday Night Raw, Monday Night Raw october 31st, Monday Night Raw halloween

Tonight on Monday Night Raw, it’s the post-Hell in a Cell Halloween spectacular. (WWE.com)

Following last night’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, tonight’s Monday Night Raw will both explore the aftermath and celebrate Halloween. It’s not so often that Halloween falls on a Monday, and so the WWE will presumably take full advantage of that with a particularly spooky episode. The show will air at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the USA Network. Read on for match results and spoilers, followed by a preview of the night’s events written earlier this afternoon:

8:00 – Goldberg enters, and the crowd goes wild. He’s about to start talking about Brock Lesnar when Paul Heyman enters, saying Brock Lesnar doesn’t appreciate all these people chanting “Goldberg!” Heyman cautiously steps into the ring, and he says that Brock Lesnar is impatient and doesn’t want to wait until Survivor Series. He wants to face Goldberg right now.

Brock Lesnar’s theme song comes on, but nobody walks out. Heyman laughs to himself in the corner of the ring and says, “Gotcha!” Goldberg is extremely upset and starts angrily approaching Heyman, and Heyman becomes terrified, yelling, “I’m just an advocate!”

Rusev enters. He asks Goldberg, “Who do you think you are?” He says Goldberg thinks he’s some kind of superhero, but he doesn’t have it anymore. It’s easy to come out and talk trash about someone who isn’t here like Brock Lesnar, but Rusev is here, he says. Rusev then punches Goldberg in the face, and Goldberg immediately goes after him, delivering a jackhammer to Rusev and then a spear to Paul Heyman.

8:21 Enzo Amore and Big Cass defeat Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows in a “trick or street” fight, a tag team match where everything goes and a bunch of Halloween decorations can be utilized. This includes Enzo Amore hitting Luke Gallows with a skeleton and then dunking him into a bucket of apples, and Luke Gallows smashing a pumpkin on Enzo Amore.

8:41 – Brian Kendrick says that last night in his match with T.J. Perkins, he proved that nice guys finish last. Of course he never needed Perkins to let him win, Kendrick says; this was just a mind game and a way to play on Perkins’ sympathies.

8:44 T.J. Perkins defeats Brian Kendrick by count out. Kendrick seems to intentionally not walk back into the ring so that Perkins can win without winning the title.

8:53 – Backstage, Braun Strowman tells Mick Foley he wants to be part of Team Raw at Survivor Series. Foley tells Strowman that he can participate in tonight’s battle royal where the winner goes to Survivor Series.

9:00 – Mick Foley enters. He talks about Hell in a Cell and says he’s proud of everyone…except for Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens. Everything they did was technically legal, but it still left a bad taste in his mouth.

Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho enter. Owens asks Foley what they did that was so wrong, speculating that he’s only upset because last night, Owens is the one who made history by stealing the show in the main event. Chris Jericho says that last night, he and Owens proved to Mick Foley that they’re a great team. Foley says he’s upset because they made a mockery out of the cell and because Owens has the talent to walk out a winner without any tricks. Foley also says that he had to stop Stephanie McMahon from suspending Jericho, and he stopped her because they need Jericho for Survivor Series. But they need another guy, too, someone they can trust.

That guy is Roman Reigns, who enters right on cue. He thanks Foley for the vote of confidence and mocks Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens, comparing them to Patrick and Spongebob. Jericho says he could take Roman’s title from him tonight if he wanted to. Roman takes him up on that offer, and Foley immediately books the match.

9:17 – A battle royal takes place, with the winner joining the Raw men’s team at Survivor Series. R. Truth and Bo Dallas are eliminated by Braun Strowman almost immediately. After a bunch more eliminations, it comes down to Sheamus, Cesaro, Braun Strowman, Neville, and Sami Zayn. Cesaro betrays Sheamus and throws him out of the ring, only to be eliminated himself by Braun Strowman. Strowman then eliminates Neville, and so it comes down to Sami Zayn and Braun Strowman. Sami Zayn very nearly throws Strowman over the top rope, but Strowman winds up eliminating Sami Zayn. Braun Strowman wins, and so he will be going to Survivor Series.

9:37 – Backstage, The New Day mourns the loss of their beloved trombone, Francesca 2. They also run through the entire tag team roster and goof on everyone in it.

9:40 – Rich Swann, Lince Dorado and Cedric Alexander defeat Tony Nese, Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari.

10:00 – Charlotte enters. She says that last night, she single-handedly made history. She also says that the biggest mistake of Sasha Banks’ career was getting up out of that stretcher. At Survivor Series, Charlotte will captain Team Raw to victory over SmackDown Live. She warns Nikki Bella that if she gets in her way, she’ll be injured again, this time for good. Since Bayley will be on the Raw women’s team, Charlotte asks Bayley to come out, calling her the “weak link” on the team.

Bayley enters. She says that what Charlotte and Sasha Banks did inside Hell in a Cell made her emotional, thinking of their time in NXT together. She congratulates Charlotte on winning. Charlotte tells Bayley that while Bayley is dreaming of success, Charlotte is achieving it. Bayley says that success has gone straight to Charlotte’s head, and she’d never want to be a champion like her because she’s a jerk. Charlotte reiterates that Bayley is the weak link on the team, and so she wants Bayley to prove herself by facing Nia Jax.

10:13 Nia Jax defeats Bayley.

10:25 – Sheamus and Cesaro defeat The Shining Stars.

10:38 – In a pre-taped segment, R. Truth and Golddust walk through a haunted house.

10:40 – Backstage, Chris Jericho practices calling himself the United States champion. He then talks to Kevin Owens about the possibility of the two of them being best friends and title-holders at the same time. Owens also promises Jericho he will have his back during the match.

10:43 Roman Reigns defeats Chris Jericho by disqualification, retaining his title. Right as Roman is about to pin Jericho, Kevin Owens interferes and starts beating up Roman, resulting in the disqualification. Moments later, Seth Rollins enters, going after Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. Rollins is about to deliver a pedigree to Jericho, but Owens saves him, and Jericho and Owens leave together. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are left in the ring, and they stare one another down as the show ends.

At Hell in a Cell last night, Kevin Owens defeated Seth Rollins to retain the WWE Universal Championship. However, this was in part due to the interference of his best friend, Chris Jericho, who ran into the cell when the referee was being replaced. Presumably, Seth Rollins will take issue with this, pointing to Jericho’s involvement as evidence that he didn’t lose fairly. He needs something to latch on to after being defeated during so many title shots in a row, and after all, Rollins really did have Owens pinned at one point and would have won if not for Chris Jericho dragging the referee out of the ring.

In the main event, of course, Charlotte defeated Sasha Banks to win back the Raw Women’s Championship during the first female Hell in a Cell match in WWE history. This Women’s Championship belt just can’t stop bouncing back and forth between the two of them like a hot potato. Charlotte had a clean victory, so how will The Boss respond to all of this? Will she take issue with Charlotte’s continued targeting of her back, which she has been experiencing pain in since SummerSlam? And when could Sasha’s rematch go down?

In the tag team division, The New Day retained their title in a match against Cesaro and Sheamus, but that’s only because they were disqualified. Cesaro and Sheamus were clearly unhappy with this result, so they will presumably demand a rematch on tonight’s Raw.

Finally, Goldberg is scheduled to appear and respond to Brock Lesnar’s response last week. What will he have to say to The Beast, and could we find out any more information about when this match will take place?
