The Hype Bros (Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder) and American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) vs. The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) and The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) (8-Man Tag Team Match)
Winners: The Hype Bros (Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder) and American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan)!
Highlights: English and Gable locked up at first, but Gable used his amateur wrestling expertise to power him down. Then American Alpha used some tag team offense to bring both Vaudevillians down. After some more action between both teams, Ryder got tagged in to deal with Viktor. Viktor looked to be in control at first, but a neckbreaker from Ryder and a ear clap from Rawley put him on his back. Rawley maintained control for a while until Viktor tagged in his partner Konnor. All of a sudden, the babyface team put together some big moves to make sure their adversaries got shoved to the outside.
When the match returned from its commercial break, Konnor finally got his hands on Ryder. Ryder soon ate the brunt of a lot of tandem offense from his alliance’s rival team. Aiden tried singing Ryder a lullaby while he held him in a sleeper hold. Ryder finally got the hot tag to Jordan after several men tried to cut off his many attempts. Jordan went Suplex crazy during his comeback on English. Bodies started flying everywhere, then the match finally came to close after American Alpha pinned English with Grand Amplitude.
AJ Styles (c) vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena (Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Championship
Winner: And still the WWE World Champion, AJ Styles!
Highlights: Styles broke out some red and white tights for this big championship encounter. The crowd went crazy with dueling chants when the match got underway. All three men began talking each other down before they finally squared off. They all tried landing their respective finishers on each other, but it failed and ended with them all clotheslining one another simultaneously. Ambrose eventually got the better of his opponents with offense on the outside. Cena ended up catching Ambrose in mid-air and slamming his back into the steel post, which was followed by Styles landing his forearm strike on Cena to the outside. After some intense action between Styles and Cena, Ambrose got locked in with both men once Cena landed a German Suplex on him and Styles. Ambrose got pushed to the outside, which allowed Cena to get the advantage over the current champion. Cena went for the AA on AJ, but he got rocked by a Pele once Styles flipped out of his finisher.
Styles looked to land his Styles Clash, but Ambrose stopped him and almost went for the pin. In an awesome moment, Styles dropped his rivals with dual DDT’s. Ambrose got taken to the outside, which left Cena again to begin getting the better of Styles. Styles eventually woke up to drop Cena with his Argentine Backbreaker. Both men began trading blows soon after, but Styles chose to switch it up and lock Cena in a sleeper hold. Cena escaped and did the same thing to Styles, then Ambrose ran in to do the same to Cena. Cena then used Ambrose as a battering ram towards Styles to escape. Cena got free and went right into his comeback offense on Ambrose, but Styles stopped him while he right in the middle of it. Ambrose used a Glam Slam-like maneuver to down Styles. Styles woke up to push Ambrose out of the ring, but he ran back in to drop a top-rope elbow on Cena. Cena then got caught with another Phenomenal Forearm. In the ring, Ambrose and Styles blasted each other with dual clotheslines.
Cena returned and cracked both men’s skulls with a double 5 (1O?) Knuckle Shuffle. Then he dropped both Styles and Ambrose with an AA. But he was unable to get the winning pin over Ambrose. Cena then locked Ambrose in his STF for a while before Styles broke it up. Styles ended up suplexing Cena right on the apron. Then he landed right on Ambrose with his Springboard 450 Splash. Styles finally landed his Styles Clash on Ambrose, but Cena then got ahold of Styles and put him in his STF. Ambrose stopped Styles from tapping and began lobbying punches at Cena. Cena then tried to drop both men with an AA, but his attempt failed after Styles escaped. Cena released Ambrose, tried to go for another AA on Styles, Styles escaped and landed an Enzuguri on Cena and Ambrose clotheslined Styles. Cena woke up to land a Running Sitdown Powerbomb on Ambrose, but Styles got ahold of Cena soon after with his Calf Crusher. Ambrose wisely broke up Styles’ submission attempt.
Out of nowhere, Ambrose locked Styles in his own submission hold. Then Cena locked on his STF while Styles was still held in his own Calf Crusher. Styles tapped, but the ref had a tough time deciding who actually won. The match continued as both Ambrose and Cena tore into each other. Ambrose delivered Dirty Deeds to Cena, but Styles pulled the ref out before he could make the 3-count. Ambrose flew through the ropes at Styles and pushed him right over the announce table. Then Cena finished Ambrose with an Avalanche AA. But then Styles ran in with a steel chair to assault Cena and gain the winning pin.
