WWE superstar Paige has undergone surgery on her neck, and she reports that it went rather well.

On Twitter this week, Paige said that her hernia was bigger than expected and that she now has three screws in her neck. She also personally thanked her surgeon, Dr. Uribe, and everyone at the hospital for helping her. Paige is still recovering, though, and she later posted that she can’t raise her hands above her head.

Paige needed to undergo surgery due to problems associated with her neck. The surgery took place on Wednesday, October 19th, and she actually posted some video footage of the surgery for anyone who wants to see that sort of thing.

With Paige in the hospital was her fiance, fellow wrestler Alberto Del Rio, who Paige recently proposed to at one of Del Rio’s shows. She thanked him for being there in the room with her, referring to Del Rio as her “true love.”

Recovery time for neck surgery of this kind varies, but it’s expected that Paige will be taken out of action for between six and nine months. That would mean the absolute earliest she could possibly return to the WWE would be April of 2017, when WrestleMania takes place.

There was reportedly some conflict between Paige and her employers about this surgery, with the WWE not feeling that it was necessary. Clearly Paige and her loved ones disagreed; in fact, Alberto Del Rio took to Twitter to post this photo describing the extent of Paige’s injuries and questioning that the WWE says “she’s not hurt.”

Paige is currently suspended from the WWE for 60 days due to a violation of the company’s wellness policy. Her father, Ricky Knight, claims that the suspension happened because Paige was taking prescription painkillers to deal with her neck pain. The WWE released a statement contradicting this, saying she had tested positive for an illegal substance.
