Bill Goldberg is about to have his first WWE match in 12 years, facing off against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.
Throughout the buildup to this fight, Goldberg’s family has come up several times, with Goldberg saying that part of the reason he wanted to return was because he wanted his son to be able to see him perform. Brock Lesnar has also brought up Goldberg’s family, touching a nerve by saying that Goldberg’s son will watch his dad lose this Sunday.

1. His Wife Is Wanda Ferraton, a Former Stunt Double
Goldbeg has been married to Wanda Ferraton since 2005. Ferraton works as a stunt double, and they met while they were both working on the 2005 horror-comedy Santa’s Slay, where Goldberg played a murderous Santa Claus. Goldberg explained in an interview on Good Morning Football (h/t Wrestling Inc.) that he met Ferraton while he was shooting a scene on a swing.
“So I’m sweating more than I am now, I couldn’t even look up at her and she taps me on the shoulder and she goes ‘are you alright, buddy?'” Goldberg recalled. “And I said ‘yeah, I’m fine’ but I couldn’t look up, obviously, and she says ‘usually before a guy and I get this close he buys me a beer first’. And I look up at her and I said, ‘I love you.'”
Ferraton has also done stunt work on films like Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning, Texas Rangers, Ararat and Caught in the Headlights. She had a small on-screen role in Goldberg’s 2007 film Half Past Dead 2, where she played the warden’s assistant. She has not done any stunt work since 2005, now working as a blacksmith, according to the San Diego Tribune. Goldberg says that Ferraton decided to find a new career after she became a mother.
“When our son was born, the rule was that she couldn’t jump off anything higher than me,” Goldberg said.
2. He & His Wife Got Engaged Three-and-a-Half Months After Meeting
It wasn’t long after that meeting on the set of Santa’s Slay that Goldberg and Ferraton were married, as Goldberg proposed just three-and-a-half months after that movie was filmed.
Goldberg told Good Morning Football (h/t Wrestling Inc) that as much as he enjoyed working on Santa’s Slay, meeting his wife was clearly the best part about the experience and that he’s been happy every day since.
“The best thing in the entire movie was not only did I kind of get to have a sleigh driven by a buffalo, but most importantly I met my wife on set,” Goldberg said. “Three and a half months after we met I asked her to marry me, and it’s been the most wonderful time of my life ever since.”
3. He Has a 9-Year-Old Son
Goldberg and Ferraton have a son, Gage A.J. Goldberg, who is now nine years old.
Gage aspires to be a Muay Thai fighter, according to TMZ, which makes sense considering his father operates Extreme Power Gym Muay Thai in Oceanside, California.
Bill Goldberg gave his son a shout out shortly into his WWE return last month, pointing Gage out in the front row of the Monday Night Raw audience. The last time Goldberg performed in a wrestling match, his son had not been born and he had not yet met his wife.
“I never thought I’d be in this ring again,” Goldberg said during his Monday Night Raw return. “So thank you for the humble return. What makes it so special is that my wife and my son are here to see me live for the first time ever.”
Goldberg went on to say that while he was gone from the WWE, he missed being a superhero for kids around the world, with his son presumably being included in that category. He concluded the segment by going around the arena and greeting fans while carrying his son on his back.
4. He Says He Doesn’t Want His Son to Join the WWE
Speaking of Gage, Bill Goldberg says that he never wants his son to join the WWE. That’s not because of wrestling being a dangerous career, but rather because Goldberg has gone on record saying that it is not a good working environment and that he personally dislikes Vince McMahon.
“One thing’s for sure, I’ll buy a company and have him work for me before he went into the WWE,” Goldberg told TMZ.
Goldberg went on to say that he would love to see his son go play for the NFL or maybe work for Glory kickboxing.
Bill Goldberg, of course, left the WWE on bad terms, explaining in 2011 that he can’t say anything positive about Vince McMahon and that working for him is “like working for a carny who’s driven only by his ego,” according to TMZ.
Goldberg expanded on that in a 2015 interview when he said, “I don’t want to have to look over my shoulder for my boss. That’s ridiculous, I’m 48 years old. I’m not a kid.”
5. He Lives With His Family in Bonsall, California
Bill Goldberg resides with his wife and son in Bonsall, California. He actually originally bought the house there as a vacation home to use while he was employed with the WWE, wanting somewhere where he could have some peace and quiet.
“I pointed to it and I said [to my Realtor], ‘Where’s this?’” Goldberg told the San Diego Tribune. “He says, ‘Man, it’s in the middle of nowhere.’ I said, ‘Take me there now.’”
The house is reportedly worth about $2.5 million, and Goldberg also built a deluxe garage onto the property where he stores over 20 vehicles. The garage also has a gym, kitchen, king-size bed and 52-inch TV, the San Diego Tribune reports.
“It’s a monstrosity,” Goldberg said. “My wife would never kick me out of the house because the garage is nicer.”
