Arsene Wenger has the Gunners into the Knockout Stage, as they try to reach the Champions League final for the first time since 2006. Arsenal survived two matches against Bayern Munich, even beating the Germans 2-0 at Emirates. Arsenal are right in the thick of the Premier League title race, trailing leaders Chelsea by only three points. Arsenal have been constants at this stage of the competition, but have not advanced out of the Last 16 round since 2010.
There hasn’t been a Champions League season that Arsenal haven’t faced Barcelona, Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund since 2008.
Arsenal have drawn Munich again for the next round, giving them a total of four matches against the Germans this year. The five-team Champions League winners also defeated the Gunners 5-1 at Allianz Arena, winning five of their six matches in the group stage.
Bayern looked to be one of the favorites in 2015, but defense let them down in the later stages. After a wild 6-4 aggregate win over Juventus, Bayern lost to Atletico Madrid on away goals.
