There are only six games for FanDuel players to pick their NBA rosters from tonight, and with players such as Russell Westbrook, James Harden and LeBron James all having the night off there aren't as "guaranteed" producers to go with. One player to consider is Minnesota's second-year center Karl-Anthony Towns, who's averaging 40.6 FanDuel points per game and has a FanDuel salary of $9,300. Towns has accounted for 50 FanDuel points or more four times this season, most recently doing so Saturday against Charlotte (50.5). Tonight's matchup with San Antonio is a difficult one however, as the Spurs have multiple veteran big men to throw at Towns.
LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol are the starters, and when they need a rest head coach Gregg Popovich can call upon a Dewayne Dedmon or David Lee. Towns is certainly going to get his touches within the Timberwolves' offense, and it remains to be seen who all plays for San Antonio given the fact that this is their second game in as many nights. But even with that uncertainty, it's tough to see San Antonio not coming up with some kind of plan to attempt to slow down Towns. In three games last season, the Spurs managed to limit Towns to 13 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. So while Towns is off to a very good start to his second NBA season, he's up against a significant test Tuesday night.
