Prediction

The light appears to have come on for the Packers, who have won three straight, including Week 14’s 38-10 drubbing of the Seattle Seahawks.

Despite hamstring and now calf injuries, quarterback Aaron Rodgers has played flawlessly over the past 4 weeks — 10 touchdown passes with zero interceptions. While he’s listed as questionable, there’s no way he’s missing this game as Green Bay has some work to do if it wants to make the playoffs. Rodgers torched the Bears for 3 TDs in the first meeting, a 26-10 Packers victory.

Green Bay’s usually plodding run game has chipped in as well, going for 109 and 93 yards in the past two weeks, respectively.

The Pack’s defense has also come alive, allowing only 12 points per game during the win streak.

Chicago has lost 4 of 5, but its defense has kept them competitive over the past month. The Bears almost pulled off the win in Detroit last week, but lost 20-17 on a Matt Stafford TD late in the fourth quarter.

Third-string quarterback Matt Barkley has played pretty well and he’ll get Alshon Jeffery back in the lineup after a four-game suspension. How effective can he be after a month off, though?

Before we get to the prediction, let’s take a glance at some of the recent betting trends. The Bears are 4-0 against the spread in the past 4 games with the UNDER winning in 3 of those. The Packers have covered the spread in 3 straight and the OVER has won in 5 of the team’s past 7 games. In the first meeting this season, Green Bay covered the spread (it was Packers -7.5) and the UNDER came in (46.5)

Green Bay is getting hot at the right time as it currently sits on the outside looking in for the NFC playoffs picture. The Packers need wins and some help. And you can be sure the Bears would love to play spoiler to the Packers’ postseason hopes.

Can they? Sure. Will they? No.

Chicago is definitely playing better, but Green Bay is dominating and desperate. The Packers go on the road and get that fourth consecutive victory to keep their playoff hopes — and NFC North title aspirations — alive.

The Pick: Packers 23-16 (Packers win straight up, Packers cover the spread, the OVER wins)
