Tonight on SmackDown Live, James Ellsworth may have finally gone too far. It’s the first show since Sunday’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view, during which several titles changed hands and there were a number of shocking developments, one of the most surprising being the heel turn of James Ellsworth. Also, singer and YouTube star Sophia Grace will make an appearance. The show will be broadcast from Houston, Texas tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the USA Network. Check back in at 8 for match results and spoilers, and read on for a preview of the night’s events.

8:00 – AJ Styles enters. He starts by addressing the elephant in the room: the fact that he split his pants during his match at Tables, Ladders and Chairs. He then laughs and says “don’t it look good!” He then says he did everything he needed to do at TLC by depriving Dean Ambrose of getting to his WWE World Championship. And the worst thing that happened is he has to wear a cast for a week, and he’s not medically cleared to face James Ellsworth tonight.

James Ellsworth enters. He speculates that this supposed injury is just a convenient way of getting out of having to face him tonight. AJ Styles says that Ellsworth is delusional, and soon Dean Ambrose enters, attacking James Ellsworth and immediately leaving.

8:17  Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton defeat Heath Slater and Rhyno, retaining their Tag Team Championship.

8:28 – Backstage, Kalisto defends his decision to ask for a rematch against Baron Corbin, saying he has one advantage over him: speed.

8:33 – Carmella enters. She has a message for Natalya: Nikki Bella always thought it was Carmella who took her out at Survivor Series, but it was really Natalya, and Natalya has been bragging non-stop about what she did to Bella. Why did she do it? Well, Carmella says it’s because Natalya is jealous that Nikki Bella is stealing her spotlight.

8:37 – Natalya and Carmella are scheduled to have a match, but they begin attacking one another before it officially begins. The fight spills backstage, but Natalya loses track of Carmella. She then runs into Nikki Bella, and Natalya tells Bella that Carmella is a liar. Bella clearly does believe it, though, and she storms off.

8:44 – Backstage, Baron Corbon says that Kalisto may be fast, but he’s more like a fly that Corbin will easily swat.

8:45 The Hype Bros defeat The Ascension.

8:55 – The Miz enters and welcomes viewers to another episode of Miz TV. He says that today is day 21 of the Intercontinental Championship reunion tour and that Dolph Ziggler is finally behind him. The Miz then welcomes out his guest, Dean Ambrose.

Ambrose says that he isn’t actually angry about what James Ellsworth did, although he is surprised. He would have never thought that Ellsworth would be so ungrateful after everything he’s done for him. The Miz says that Ambrose just manipulated Ellsworth for his own agenda, i.e. getting under AJ Styles’ skin. The Miz adds that the match everyone wants to see tonight is James Ellsworth versus Dean Ambrose so Ellsworth can give Ambrose what he deserves. Ambrose flips out, standing up in his chair and says that it always surprises him when someone intentionally tries to piss him off. The Miz says that although Ambrose walked away from TLC empty handed, he has something for him: a “Miz Participation Award,” which is just a framed certificate featuring a photo of The Miz and Maryse. Ambrose grabs it and says he’s going to try to shove the entire thing down The Miz’s throat.

Daniel Bryan enters. He tells Ambrose he can’t let him attack The Miz right now…because they should attack each other in the main event tonight. In fact, the Intercontinental Championship will be on the line.

9:10 Baron Corbin defeats Kalisto.

9:16 – Backstage, Nikki Bella welcomes Sophia Grace to the show. They mention they have a special event planned with Lana, Naomi, Sasha Banks and Brie Bella.

9:21 Chad Gable defeats Tyler Breeze.

9:32 – Alexa Bliss enters, carrying her SmackDown Women’s Championship. She says that at Tables, Ladders and Chairs, she proved that happy endings don’t exist, and now she runs the entire women’s division.

Becky Lynch enters. Bliss asks why Lynch is even here at her party. Lynch says that she can’t stand the fact that some selfish, petulant girl could be considered the leader of SmackDown Live. Bliss says that this isn’t the new era anymore; this is Bliss’ era, and Lynch has to call her champion. Lynch says her reign ends with their rematch, and she wants her rematch right now. Bliss mocks Lynch and leaves the ring with her championship.

9:38 – The Miz defeats Dean Ambrose. At one point during the match, as Dean Ambrose is about to jump from the top rope on The Miz, Miz hides behind Maryse. Later, Maryse grabs Ambrose while he’s standing on the top rope and causes him to fall. At the end of the match, James Ellsworth arrives. He seems to want to help Ambrose by preventing Maryse from interfering, but Ambrose is so distracted by Ellsworth’s appearance that The Miz is able to attack Ambrose and score the victory.

On Sunday, the Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view ended with a major twist: James Ellsworth betrayed Dean Ambrose when he knocked over his ladder in the main event and allowed AJ Styles to retain the title. In an interview on Talking Smack after the show, Ellsworth explained that he did so because he believes he can win in a match against AJ Styles. Ellsworth did already beat Styles three times, but of course this was all just because of Dean Ambrose’s shenanigans. With Ellsworth facing Styles on his own tonight, the only question is, how many seconds will it take before Ellsworth is completely annihilated?

We also saw the Women’s Championship title change hands this past Sunday, with Alexa Bliss taking it away from Becky Lynch. Bliss has now reached the top of the women’s division, but what’s next for Becky Lynch? She was clearly completely devastated after the loss, and in a post-match interview, Lynch said that she let herself down and she begged for another match against Alexa Bliss. Meanwhile, Carmella claimed on Sunday that Natalya is the one who attacked Nikki Bella at Survivor Series. Is she telling the truth?

Speaking of new champions, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton won the Tag Team Championship in a match against Heath Slayer and Rhyno at Tables, Ladders and Chairs. How much longer will Wyatt’s hold over Orton last? How can he manage to get out of Wyatt’s circle of terror? And how will Heath Slater explain his loss to his kids?

Finally, singer and YouTuber Sophia Grass will apparently be making an appearance, having accepted an invitation from Nikki Bella on Twitter.
