Two of Manchester United’s young stars will start in the team’s FA Cup meeting with Wigan on Sunday. Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw have had their starting role confirmed by Jose Mourinho, along with backup keeper Sergio Romero.
The moves come as United head into February with strong form and a crowded schedule. The squad already have a Premier League match with Hull on Wednesday, but still have the EFL Cup final and Europa league in the next month. United are within striking distance of the top four of the EPL table, especially with Liverpool’s recent slide.
Wigan has beaten United just once in 18 meetings: a 1-0 Premier League victory in April of 2012. They have visited United on eight occaisions, with the combined score of those matches totaling 28-1
United are defending FA Cup champions, and a win would put them three matches away from the final. United have raised the FA Cup 12 times, but have never repeated as champions.
