The Atlanta Falcons have the best offense in the NFL and are in their first Super Bowl since the 1998-99 season, but the oddsmakers don’t see them as the favorite.

That could be because Atlanta has to play the New England Patriots, who have won four of their six Super Bowl appearances since 2001.

Kickoff is set for Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET from NRG Stadium in Houston and it will be aired on Fox.

The Patriots opened as an early 3-point favorite and that number has held steady. The same can be said for the over/under total, which opened at 58.5 and has stayed relatively constant. It’s the highest total in Super Bowl history.

According to OddsShark.com, most of the money (roughly 59 percent) is being put on the Patriots (-3). And upwards of 60 percent of the wagers are being placed on the OVER (58.5 points).

The teams haven’t played each other since September 29, 2013, when the Patriots went into Atlanta and came out with a 30-23 victory. New England has won four straight in the series dating back to the 2001 season, when Tom Brady became the Pats’ starting quarterback.
