Martinez, who grew up just south of Seattle in Tacoma, rose to fame in 2011 when she finished on NBC’s The Voice. The next year, she released her first studio album, “Vicci,” which rose to No. 180 on the Billboard 200. She has also had three singles reach the Billboard Hot 100.
The 32-year-old is no stranger to singing the national anthem, though this Wild Card game may prove to be her biggest stage yet. Among other venues, she has performed at a charity soccer game and a Phoenix Suns NBA game:
Kickoff for Saturday night’s game is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on NBC. Martinez will likely perform about 5-to-10 minutes before kickoff, though it’s unclear if NBC will show her performance live on air.
