PHOTOS: Mike Pence at Super Bowl 51 With Wounded Warriors

President Donald Trump stayed in Florida, but his vice president, Mike Pence, attended Super Bowl 2017 – and he brought two wounded warriors along with him.

The Pences tried to strike it neutral, inviting a service member to attend the game with them who supported the Falcons and one who supported the Patriots. They brought to the game Army Staff Sgt. Frederick Manning Mannino, who was injured in Iraq, and Marine Staff Sgt. Tony Mannino, who was injured in Afghanistan, according to the Indianapolis Star. (See above photo).

Pence has a son who is in the military.

Once at the Super Bowl, Pence also hung out with former President George H.W. Bush, and his wife, Barbara.

Astute observers noticed that Pence was watching the Super Bowl in a box with James Baker, but that’s probably because Baker was the chief of staff to Bush, as well as Ronald Reagan. George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara, attended Super Bowl 51, where George H.W. tossed out the coin in a moving moment. Both Bushes, who have suffered health problems recently, were wheeled onto the field for the toss.

Pence also took time out of Super Bowl watching to give an interview.

Pence, on his way to Super Bowl 51, stopped at “Andrews Air Force Base, where he met two wounded service members and their guests — and invited them to join him at the game,” reported the Independent Journal Review.

However, more Twitter conversation focused on Baker being spotted with Pence. Baker was a key figure in the administrations of two presidents.

As for the president, he and Melania watched the Super Bowl at the Trump golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, where the First Couple is on vacation.
