Aaron Gordon will look to top his amazing performance in last year’s Slam Dunk Contest as he enters New Orleans as the favorite. Gordon was narrowly edged out in 2016 by Zach LaVine who is sidelined for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

Gordon will be joined by Derrick Jones Jr. who is relatively unknown for NBA fans. Jones has only played 11 minutes in the NBA for the Suns and has spent most of the season in the D-League. His time time in the D-League has led to no shortage of highlight dunks.

Clippers star center DeAndre Jordan will try to accomplish the rare feat of winning the contest as a big man. Glen Robinson III, son of the former NBA great, rounds out the field of four players in the contest.

Gordon helped put on one of the greatest dunk contests in 2016. One dunk featured Gordon hurdling the Magic mascot, Stuff, as he was looking down at the rim before the dunk.

Here’s a look at the latest Vegas odds courtesy of OddsShark.

Aaron Gordon (Orlando Magic) -200
Derrick Jones Jr. (Phoenix Suns) +155
Glenn Robinson III (Indiana Pacers) +750
DeAndre Jordan (Los Angeles Clippers) +1200

Heavy likes Gordon to top his 2016 performance by winning this year’s contest. Gordon will be challenged by newcomer Jones, but Gordon’s creativity will be too much for Jones to top.

Heavy’s Pick: 1. Aaron Gordon 2. Derrick Jones Jr.
