WATCH: The Miz Rants Against John Cena & Nikki Bella on ‘SmackDown Live’

On SmackDown Live this week, The Miz went on an extended rant against John Cena, mocking him for his relationship with Nikki Bella and suggesting that his feelings for her are completely manufactured.

During a tag team match between John Cena and Nikki Bella and Carmella and James Ellsworth, The Miz and Maryse sat in on commentary, and The Miz mocked Cena for his real life relationship with Nikki Bella. While on commentary, Miz accused Cena of doing everything he does as a way of improving his brand and selling merchandise. This is a legitimate criticism that some have leveled towards John Cena.

After the match ended, The Miz and Maryse attacked John Cena and Nikki Bella, with The Miz then stepping into the ring and grabbing a mic. He once again went off on John Cena, saying that his relationship with Nikki Bella is just a cynical manipulation of fans. In support of this, he pointed out the fact that for a period of time, nobody was allowed to talk about Cena and Bella’s relationship on WWE programming, but now suddenly it is a major part of the show. Once again, this is a legitimate point that has been made among fans.

Fans on social media went wild over The Miz’s rant, mainly because, like so many of the best WWE storylines, it had elements of reality in it. Over the past few months, SmackDown Live has been incorporating real aspects of John Cena and Nikki Bella’s relationship, such as in a recent storyline in which Natalya told Nikki Bella that John Cena will never marry her and she will die alone. In reality, John Cena has said that he does not want to get married, while Nikki Bella does want to get married.

It is rumored that this storyline is leading up to a tag team match at WrestleMania 33 between John Cena and Nikki Bella and The Miz and Maryse. Some have even suggested that, with all of this marriage talk, the match could even end with Cena proposing to Bella.

The Miz is one of the best heels on SmackDown Live right now, and a number of his rants have gone viral over the past few months. In particular, The Miz’s rant against Daniel Bryan on Talking Smack in August racked up nearly two million views on YouTube.
