World Baseball Classic 2017: Dominican Republic Schedule

Along with the United States, the Dominican Republic is a favorite to win the World Baseball Classic once again. The star-studded team won the 2013 World Baseball Classic with a high-powered offense and shut-down pitchers, and it will likely be much of the same this year.

The Dominican Republic comes back the the event with yet another loaded roster, but they will have their work cut out for them in the pool play/round robin first round. The nation is in Pool C of the tournament, which is arguably one of the most competitive groups of nations.

Pool C consists of the Dominican Republic, the United States, Canada and Colombia. The tournament officially begins March 6, but the Dominican Republic will play its first game March 9.

All first-round games in Pool C take place at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida.

The top-two finishers in each pool will move on to the Second Round of games, which take place between March 14-19 for Pool C. The winners and runners-up in Pool C and D will play each other in San Diego, California.
