WATCH: The Hardy Boyz Return to WWE at ‘WrestleMania 33’

The Hardy Boyz made their return to WWE at WrestleMania 33 tonight.

This was a surprise return that came during the Raw Tag Team Ladder Match about two hours into the show. This was originally booked as a triple threat match between Cesaro and Sheamus, Enzo Amore and Big Cass, and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

However, The New Day soon entered, informing the crowd that this would now be a fatal five-way match. They then introduced the fifth team: The Hardy Boyz, who entered to a huge pop.

The Hardy Boyz wrestled for WWE from 1999 to 2010, in recent years working for Ring of Honor.

A Hardy Boyz return had been rumored for several weeks now, but nobody knew for sure it was coming until the moment that the Hardys’ theme song kicked in on Sunday.

In fact, Jeff Hardy has intentionally mislead fans in order to make this into more of a surprise. He recently told CBS that there is no truth to the rumor that he would be at WrestleMania.

“No, because you have to go through so much testing and all of that,” he said. “It’s a long process. But, no. We know some people there and naturally, after WrestleMania dies down, maybe a couple of months from now, we’ll see what’s possible. But there is no truth to that whatsoever.”

Hardy also said that he’s glad he’s not wrestling on Sunday because “my body’s going to be all jacked up for sure.”

Hardy did, in fact, end up wrestling on Sunday night, winning the Raw Tag Team Championship.
