The first of two consecutive IndyCar races from Speedway, Indiana, will run on Saturday, as drivers take part in the IndyCar Grand Prix.

Serving as the lead-in to the Indy 500, which takes place in two weeks, the IndyCar Grand Prix certainly isn’t nearly as popular as its counterpart, but it’s still an entertaining race that takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s road course.

Simon Pagenaud’s win a couple weeks ago in Phoenix vaulted him to the top spot in the driver standings ahead of Scott Dixon, and this is certainly a good spot for him to extend that lead. The 32-year-old Team Penske driver has captured the victory at this race in two of its three runnings, winning the inaugural race in 2014 and again last year.

Still, he’ll have plenty of competition. Dixon is the only other driver to finish Top 5 in each of the season’s first four races. Will Power, who is the only other driver to win this race and has led the second-most laps this season despite being just seventh in the driver standings, got his season back on track with a second-place finish in Phoenix. Helio Castroneves has back-to-back fourth-place finishes. And James Hinchcliffe finished third in this race last year.

Though the main event in Indianapolis is still two weeks away, this should still be a thoroughly entertaining race.
