Not long after Jinder Mahal returned to the WWE, fans began to notice that he looked absolutely ripped compared to how he looked during his previous run in the company. So how is it that Mahal was able to transform himself like this and maintain this physique?
In recent interviews, Mahal says that it’s largely a matter of diet, and he says the main factor is consistency.
“I literally haven’t had a cheat meal in 3-4 months,” Mahal told Sportskeeda. “I haven’t eaten anything I shouldn’t have. Even now, on the tour, I have my cooling bag with me and I carry 5 meals with me so that I eat every 2 hours. I eat 30/40 grammes of carbohydrates, 30/40 grammes of proteins with every meal.”
Mahal says that he also exercises six days a week, and he does not drink or use drugs of any kind.
“Then there’s cardio 6 days a week and weight training 6 days a week,” Mahal told Sportskeeda. “I also became straight-edge. I also do a lot of Olympic compound movements. Then there are lots of basic squats, lots of push-ups and other exercises. Overall, from diet to exercise, I’m seeing good results. I’m going to keep getting in better shape because not only do I look better but I feel better.”
Clearly, Jinder Mahal works extremely hard, and Triple H has said that this is something he recognized and appreciated about Mahal. It also seems like part of the reason the company decided to suddenly give him a main event push after previously terminating his contract.
“Jinder is a guy who has always worked extremely hard,” Triple H told The USA Today. “He trains hard; he’s very intense about what he wants with his career; he’s very thoughtful…To Jinder’s credit and to Drew [McIntyre]’s credit, they left, they went and figured it for themselves, they improved. They’re both men now as opposed to kids trying to make it in the business. They see their careers differently and what they want and are still extremely hard workers and great people. Now hopefully they are in a better position to succeed.”
There has been quite a bit of speculation over the past year that Jinder Mahal has abused steroids in order to get the body he has now. Mahal has maintained this is completely false and that he has been tested by the WWE multiple times.
“I’ve been tested multiple times since coming back, and have never once in over 6 years with WWE had any issues,” he said on Instagram recently. “Follow my IG stories or my SnapChat and you can see that no one is out-training me, and no one is out-dieting me.”
Indeed, those who follow Mahal on Instagram will see that he frequently posts photos of himself working out at the gym.
On his Snapchat, he also often posts photos of himself preparing meals.
