WWE.com Kurt Angle reveals that Jason Jordan is his son.
It has now been two weeks since Jason Jordan was revealed as Kurt Angle’s son on Monday Night Raw, and tonight, he will be speaking with The Miz in a Miz TV segment. So what’s the future of this Jason Jordan plot line? Where is this all leading?
The plan is evidently to keep the Jason Jordan storyline going for quite some time, as Pro Wrestling Sheet reported on July 18th.
“Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned the saga between Jason Jordan and Kurt Angle will be a central storyline on Raw over the next few months,” the site reported.
The report went on to specify that Jordan will get a “solid midcard level push” as his relationship with Kurt Angle continues to grow.
More recently, Sportskeeda recently reported that Jason Jordan will be facing The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. Sportskeeda also reports that this is going to set up a feud between The Miz and Kurt Angle. The idea is that Jason Jordan will defeat The Miz at SummerSlam, and afterwards, The Miz will claim that Jordan only got a match at SummerSlam in the first place due to nepotism, and that would set up a feud between The Miz and Kurt Angle. This would be similar to the way that The Miz feuded with Daniel Bryan on SmackDown Live, except in this case, it could actually build up to a match. Sportskeeda’s exclusive reports are often not accurate, so this should all be taken with a huge grain of salt, but it certainly seems like a possibility ahead of tonight’s Miz TV segment; it also fits with the idea of Jordan getting a midcard level push.
Ringside News also recently published a rumored SummerSlam card, and that includes a match between Jason Jordan and The Miz. They may have just been basing this off of the Sportskeeda report, though.
Outside of this potential feud with The Miz, there has also been speculation that the Jason Jordan storyline will eventually lead to the return of Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. The theory is that Jason Jordan isn’t actually Kurt Angle’s son at all; this whole thing was a scheme by Stephanie McMahon, who made up a damaging secret in order to blackmail Kurt Angle. However, her plan failed when Kurt Angle decided to reveal the secret himself. At some point in the next few months, the theory goes, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H will reveal the truth, and Kurt Angle, who became so emotionally attached to the idea of Jason Jordan being his son, will become so angry that he will want to face Triple H in the ring, probably either at Survivor Series or WrestleMania 34.
Mainly, this theory is based on two factors. First, while Kurt Angle’s scandalous secret was being teased on Raw for almost two months, there were rumors that it was leading to the return of Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, which could still be true. Second, it just makes practical sense that Jason Jordan would not want to have to wrestle as Kurt Angle’s son for the rest of his life, and so the WWE could have its cake and eat it too by doing this whole “father/son” angle for the next six months to a year, only to reverse it so that things can go back to normal. It also seems inevitable that Jason Jordan will turn on Kurt Angle at some point, either by aligning himself with Stephanie McMahon and Triple H or betraying his “dad” in some other fashion.
