Thursday marked the start of Steph Curry’s professional golf career, as the Golden State Warriors star point guard took on the Ellie Mae Classic.

While many were expecting the two-time MVP to embarrass himself or shoot in the 80’s, it was far from that. Curry finished his round with one double-bogey, five bogeys, nine pars and three birdies on his way to a respectable four-over 74.

Here’s a complete look at this highlights from Thursday at TPC Stonebrae

Steph Curry Round 1 Score & Highlights From Ellie Mae Classic

Final Score: 74 (T141)

Curry, who started on the back nine, saw the first shot of his professional career fly well wide of the fairway:

He ultimately settled with a bogey on No. 10 to open his round, but it could have been a lot worse if not for a nice chip from off the green to set up a tap-in:

On No. 11, Curry knocked down a nice putt to save par:

After a par on No. 12, Curry was tied with his playing partners–defending champ Stephan Jaegar and No. 2 on the money-list Sam Ryder–through three holes. Another errant tee shot on No. 13, however, put him in trouble near the cart path:

He would ultimately bogey that hole, and then the next after barely missing a long par putt from the fringe:

Curry bounced back on the Par-5 15th, however, sticking his approach shot to within about six feet and rolling in the putt for his first birdie of the day:

With pars on 16 and 17, he appeared to be settling into a groove. Then, after a tee shot on 18 went into the bunker, he had to lay up but proceeded to make an impressive up-and-down to save par and card a 37 on the back nine:

His five-hole bogey-less streak came to end on the Par-3 second. He would also double-bogey No. 5, but he mixed in birdies on the Par-5 third and Par-3 sixth.

Finally, he finished with a bogey on No. 9, completing his round with a four-over 74.
