A look at the Zo2 Prime Remix that Lonzo Ball is expected to wear against the Clippers.

Fans of the old school Nike commercials remember Mars Blackmon telling fans “it’s gotta be the shoes.” Decades later it remains the same as Lonzo Ball’s choice of shoes have been a topic of discussion since before the NBA draft. It’s no surprise Ball’s decision has even more interest as he plays in his first NBA game.

Ball is expected to wear his signature Big Baller Brand sneakers in tonight’s game against the Clippers. According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Ball will wear the Zo2 Prime tonight.

Just a few months after it’s initial release, Big Baller Brand overhauled Ball’s signature kicks. The latest version is called the Zo2 Prime Remix.

According to SLAM Magazine, Ball is calling the re-designed shoes the “lightest basketball shoe ever made.” Fans who ordered the original version of the shoes will be sent the latest edition, or there is a refund option.

SLAM details how the change is also retroactive.

Those who already pre-ordered the original ZO2 Primes can expect this “remix” version to still arrive by the original November shipping date. The Showtime edition and the “Independence Day” colorways will also be converted into this new silhouette and shipping dates for pre-orders of those will also remain the same. There is a refund option for those who pre-ordered the original ZO2 shoe and would rather not receive the newer version.

For those who have followed the Big Baller Brand’s pricing model, it will be no surprise that the newest shoes are $495 a pair. The Big Baller Brand details the new re-design.

Borrowing from aerospace and FORMULA 1, the ZO2 in a relentless pursuit of lightweight uses a carbon fiber heel counter for an incredible stress support…The ZO2 uses a super strong mono-filament Rip Stop Mesh taken from ultra light performance racing Yachts. Impossible strength to weight ratio in a basketball shoe.

Ball made waves over the summer for wearing everything from Nike to Adidas during summer league action. The Ball family has stressed he has complete control over which shoe he wears each game, as it’s part of their independent business model.
