Waiver Wire Week 7: Top Pickups, Adds & Fantasy Rankings

Getty Alfred Morris is fighting with Darren McFadden to take over as Cowboys starting running back.

Last week, it was Odell Beckham Jr. who was carted off the field. This week, the injury bug seems to have hit the quarterback position. Aaron Rodgers has a broken collarbone leaving many to fear he could be out for the season.

Jameis Winston also left the Bucs-Cardinals game with a shoulder injury. We are here to help you replace your quarterback or any other positions you need to upgrade.

If the quarterbacks left on your waiver wire are anything like my leagues, there are not many attractive options. Josh McCown is coming of a stellar week for the Jets, but this seems more like an aberration than something you can count on. Jared Goff has faced two tough defenses the last two weeks, but Goff could bounce back over the next few weeks with the way the Rams offense started the season. Carson Palmer is also a nice option if he is available in your league.

The big fantasy question heading into this week is who will take over for the Cowboys at running back. Alfred Morris has had more work this season, but not by much. Darren McFadden has yet to carry the ball this season. However, Cowboys.com Bryan Broaddus reported he expects McFadden to be the lead back with Ezekiel Elliott out.

It is a hard situation to decipher as McFadden has been on the inactive list at times to start the season. Both backs should be owned, and it is hard to imagine we will know much more until after the Cowboys play next week.

Heavy will continue to add to this list as more players emerge as top waiver wire candidates. Ownership percentage is based on ESPN leagues, but applicable across platforms.

Here’s a look at this week’s top pickups.
